Remote Check Capture FAQs

What is Remote Check Capture (RCC)?

RCC is a new service that will allow customers to credit funds to their stored value account(s) remotely by taking a photo of their check(s) via their mobile device (iPhone, iPad, Android, and Android Tablet). This will replace the current process of mailing a check to our California office.

Will there be a fee to use Remote Check Capture?

No, RCC is free to all PayQwick customers.

What is the enrollment process? In order to use RCC, you must first request access through the Green Check Direct portal.  While you are waiting for approval and credentials, you can download the mobile app from either the Apple or Google store and install it on your device(s).

How soon will I have access to my funds? Checks submitted prior to 2:00pm PT on banking days will be processed the same day, unless held for compliance review. Checks will show in your Green Check Direct portal on their processing date and will be available for use after 2-3 banking days.

How do I know my check has been received? When a check is submitted, you will receive an in app notification that it was received.  When the check is credited to your account, you will see the item listed in your transaction activity.

What happens if my check is reviewed and must be reversed? A daily process runs to adjust any checks that do not pass review, or are returned. If a check does not pass review and/or needs adjustment, you will be notified via e-mail by your relationship manager at PayQwick.

What types of checks are eligible for Remote Check Capture? Only complete (full MICR), single party, domestic checks made payable to the owner(s) of your PayQwick account are accepted. Third-party checks, checks older than six (6) months from the date of attempted submission, and post-dated checks will not be accepted.

Are there limits on the total amount or checks I can submit? No.  However, PayQwick reserves the right to place holds on any items that present more risk.

How should the item be endorsed? Each item should include an endorsement with three lines as follows: “Payable to PayQwick”, your signature, and the words “mobile deposit”.  It will look something like this:

What should I do with the check once it has been submitted? You should securely store each original check(s) for a period of 30 days after you receive confirmation that your item has been accepted. Please note that you are solely responsible and liable for the security and storage of the original checks and for any loss or misappropriation of the checks. Upon expiration of the 30-day period, you should destroy/shred any items that had been submitted via RCC.
