The Marketplace "leads" workflow
How to receive, review, and act on leads from the Green Check Marketplace
When a cannabis-related business (CRB) expresses interest in your organization through the Green Check Marketplace, a lead is automatically created and sent to your team. This article explains how leads arrive, where to find them, and how to manage them through to conversion.
⚡️Quick Start Guide
- Go to Accounts in Green Check and select the Leads tab.
- Click a row to open the lead details drawer and review the CRB’s information and comment.
- Update the Status field to reflect where the lead stands in your pipeline.
- When ready to move forward, click Send Application Request to begin due diligence.
How a CRB Connects With You
CRBs discover your organization through the Green Check Marketplace. Your offers are surfaced to businesses whose stated interests match the category your offer is listed under. For example, a CRB interested in business banking will see banking-category offers from service providers like yours.
When a CRB finds an offer they want to explore, they click the “Connect Now” button on your offer tile. A modal appears where they can:
-
Review a brief description of the connection with your organization
-
Optionally enter a comment with any context or questions
- Submit by clicking Get In Touch
Once submitted, the lead is created in your queue and your team is notified. From the CRB’s side, the Connect Now button is replaced with a confirmation showing the date they reached out and any comment they left.
Access the Leads Queue
All incoming leads are found in Accounts → Leads in your Green Check portal. The leads table shows:
-
Name — the CRB contact who submitted the lead
-
Email and Phone — contact details for direct outreach
-
Company — the CRB’s organization name
- Lead Status — current stage in your pipeline
- Date Created — when the Connect Now request was submitted
The table has two views: Active (leads in New or Working status) and Archived (leads marked Unqualified, Not a Fit, or Invited).
Review a Lead
Click any row in the leads table to open the lead details drawer. In addition to the table fields, the drawer shows:
-
Any comment the CRB submitted when they connected
-
The CRB’s interests — shown as friendly category names (for example, “Business Banking” or “Cash Logistics”)
-
The current status and available status actions
📋 Interests shown in the drawer reflect what the CRB selected during onboarding. They give useful context about which services the lead is most interested in.
Manage Lead Statuses
You can update a lead’s status directly from the details drawer. Each status reflects where the lead stands in your pipeline.
-
New — lead was just submitted. Your team has been notified via email and a task has been created.
-
Working — you are actively engaging with this lead. The CRB receives an email notification when the status moves here.
-
Unqualified — the lead does not meet your criteria. Requires an internal comment. Lead is archived and the CRB is notified.
-
Not a Fit — the lead is not the right fit for your services. Requires an internal comment. Lead is archived and the CRB is notified.
-
Invited — the lead has been converted and invited to complete due diligence.
📋 Internal comments left on leads set as Unqualified or Not a Fit are not shared with the CRB; they are for internal purposes only.
Receive a Task and Email Notification
When a new lead arrives, Green Check notifies your Admins and Account Owners in two ways:
-
Email notification — includes the CRB’s details and the comment they submitted
-
Task — created automatically in your task list, due 5 days from lead creation, with a reminder 2 days before the due date
Clicking the task takes you directly to the relevant lead in the Leads queue. Once you update the lead status away from New, the task is automatically marked complete.
Convert a Lead to a Full Application
When you’re ready to move a qualified lead into the formal due diligence process, use the Send Application Request button in the lead details drawer.
-
Open the lead’s details drawer from the Leads queue
-
Click Send Application Request
-
Select a due diligence template and assign a relationship manager in the modal
-
Confirm the action
Once confirmed, the CRB will appear in your Invited queue and the lead status will update to Invited. Invited leads are moved to the archived view.
Tips for Your Team
✅ Action new leads quickly — tasks are due within 5 days of creation. Getting in touch early increases conversion rates.
📋 Check the interests field — before reaching out, review the CRB’s stated interests to tailor your first conversation.
🌱 Use internal comments — when archiving a lead, leave a thorough internal comment so your team has context if the CRB re-engages later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I be notified when a new lead comes in?
Yes. When a CRB submits a Connect Now request, your Admins and Account Owners receive an email notification immediately. A task is also created in your task list with a 5-day due date.
Can a CRB see my internal comments?
No. Internal comments entered when archiving a lead are visible only to your team. The CRB receives a status notification email but does not see any comment content.
What happens to the CRB when I mark a lead as Unqualified or Not a Fit?
The CRB is automatically notified by email that the status has changed, giving them the opportunity to explore other service providers on the marketplace. No additional action is needed from your team.
Can I reopen an archived lead?
Archived leads (Unqualified or Not a Fit) cannot be moved back to an active status. If you would like to re-engage with a CRB, contact Green Check support for assistance.
What is the difference between Connect Now and Apply?
Connect Now is a low-commitment way for CRBs to signal interest — it creates a lead and notifies your team without starting a formal application. Apply begins the full due diligence process directly (which will put them into the Invited tab).
Most CRBs use Connect Now first, and your team can then send them an application request once you’ve had a chance to review the lead.
