Task reassignment & due date editing
Green Check now allows bank users to reassign tasks and update due dates directly from the platform. This applies to both individual tasks and grouped monitoring review distributions.
Reassigning an Individual Task
- Open the Tasks page and click into any open task to open the task drawer.
- Locate the Assignee field. Click Edit next to it.
- Select a new user or group from the dropdown.
- Click Apply to save. The task drawer and task table update immediately.
The new assignee will receive an email notification with a direct link to the task.
Note: The previous assignee loses access to the task after reassignment — unless the task is reassigned to a group they are a member of.
Reassigning Tasks in Bulk (Grouped Monitoring Reviews)
- On the Tasks page, navigate to a grouped monitoring review task and open it.
- In the grouped task table, check the boxes next to the tasks you want to reassign.
- Click Change Assignee in the action bar that appears.
- Select a new user or group and click Apply.
The table refreshes to reflect the updated assignees. Each newly assigned user receives an email notification.
Note: Completed tasks cannot be selected for bulk reassignment. Rows with a Completed status will appear disabled.
Editing a Due Date
Individual task:
- Open the task drawer for any open task.
- Locate the Due Date field. Click Edit next to it.
- Select a new date using the date picker. Past dates are not selectable.
- Click Apply to save.
Grouped monitoring review or questionnaire distribution:
- Open the grouped task drawer.
- Click Edit next to the Due Date field at the top level.
- Select a new date and click Apply.
The new due date applies to all tasks in the distribution — see below for why.
How Due Dates Work for Grouped Monitoring Reviews
For grouped monitoring review distributions or questionnaires, the due date is managed at the distribution level, not per individual account within the group.
This is intentional. Green Check's reminder system schedules automated reminders based on the distribution's due date. When you update the due date on a grouped distribution, it applies to all accounts or reviews in that distribution simultaneously.
Who Gets Notified
- If you reassign to a user — the new assignee gets an in-app notification and an email (email portion is coming soon)
- If you reassign to a group — everyone in that group gets an in-app notification email (coming soon)
- If you only change the due date — the current assignee gets an in-app notification and an email
- If you change both — the new assignee gets an in-app notification and an email
The previous assignee is not notified.
Reassignment Scope: Why the Dropdown Is Limited
When reassigning a task, the list of available users and groups is limited to those who were part of the original task assignment.
For example: if a task was originally assigned to the Admins group and the Account Owners group, you can reassign it to any individual user within either group, or back to either group as a whole — but not to anyone outside that original scope. This ensures the new assignee already has the correct account access.
What Tasks Support Reassignment and Due Date Editing
What supports both reassignment and due date editing:
- Open manually-created tasks
- Most open internal system-generated tasks (Account approvals, negative news, etc.)
- Open external tasks (questionnaires, document requests, onboarding)
- Grouped monitoring review tasks — note: due date changes apply to the full distribution, not individual accounts
What cannot be reassigned or have dates changed:
- Completed tasks (any type)
- FinCEN tasks (SAR/CTR) — due dates are tied to FinCEN filing requirements
- Comment tasks
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I reassign a task to someone who isn't currently a user in Green Check? No. Only active users and groups already in your Green Check organization are available.
What if the user I want to reassign to isn't showing in the dropdown? The dropdown is limited to users and groups from the task's original assignment. If the person you need isn't listed, they were not part of the original assignment scope.
Can I update the due date to a date in the past? No. The date picker only allows future dates.
Does changing the due date notify the current assignee? Yes — if the due date changes, the current assignee receives an email noting the updated date.
I changed the due date on a grouped monitoring review. Why did it apply to all reviews? Grouped monitoring review distributions use a single due date to power the platform's automated reminder system. All reports in the distribution share that date so reminders go out consistently.
Can I undo a reassignment? There is no undo. If a task was reassigned in error, simply reassign it again to the correct user or group.
